The sun rises on a new motorcycle trip.
We’re on tour! My daughter and me are two days into our motorcycle trip to the French Alps. Here are some photos and experiences:
This is what I wanted to take with me on the Harley Davidson. Doesn’t look like much, but I eventually had to leave three T_shirts at home.
Right after the start, queuing up for gas. And no, there was no shortage of supply, but an increase of demand.
Our hotel in Karlsruhe on the first night. Friendly staff, good rooms, good eating.
Every one has their own way to store their helmet away at rest stops, and this is my daughter’s.
That big Ortlieb rack bag sitting on her pillion seat has it’s pros and cons. On the one hand it holds everything you could think of for such a trip and still isn’t full. On the other hand, what you’re looking for is always down below!
We had some slight rain yesterday on our way through the Jura to our day’s destination, Bourg-en-Bresse. The rain suits worked well. But let’s see how they cope today. This third morning greets us with constant drizzle and an expectation of thunderstorms in the Alps today. Destination: Gap. It isn’t as far as yesterdays road (465 km), only 242 km. We’ll manage, I’m sure, and I’ll have something to blog about.
